Kuranui is located in the centre of New Zealand’s major tourist destinations of Rotorua, Taupo and Mount Maunganui. Experience more of what New Zealand is famous for and a huge choice of cultural, adventure and sporting activities, wineries, beaches, sightseeing and shopping are all within one hour of Kuranui.
Whether it’s a bit of downtime between your hunting adventures or looking to entertain those in your group with some more urban comforts, our hosts are just as at home in the high streets of fashion and fine dining / cafe culture, and are excited to be able to showcase all the non-hunting experiences our beautiful country has to offer.

Wallabies at Night
Did you know New Zealand has small kangaroos? Known as wallabies? Join our Guides and Hunt over private land for feral Wallabies with spotlights, thermals and on 4WD buggies. This experience is one of the most memorable experiences for our clients! Lots of laughs and great memories. These small creatures are sure fun to hunt.
Wild West Coast Bull by Heli

Where you and your guide will hunt for wild bulls that have escaped captivity and lived feral amongst New Zealand’s native fauna foraging in the scrub for generations.

Arrive by Heli to a pretty cool destination designed just for the keen clay target shooter! With the added bonus of a scenic flight, your private pilot will fly you over the local Kaimai Ranges. Challenge yourself with some serious claybird shooting. Enjoy a packed lunch and then flights back to Kuranui Lodge. A great afternoon adventure to get your eye in and have some laughs with the team.
Heli Gourmet
The upgrade! Not only will you arrive by Heli via scenic flight over Kaimai Ranges, you will ALSO have the opportunity to check out the spectacular Wairere Falls Waterfall on the way. Arrive at Game Gully for a gourmet prepared lunch and then challenge yourself with some serious claybird shooting. Great Fun!
